Our story
Built on documents that have to be right.
Travel Experience opened its doors in 2008. Since then we have grown into a national network of 9 stores, in shopping centres from Cavendish Square to Northridge Mall, serving travellers across 5 provinces.
What we do sits in a category where mistakes are expensive. An International Driving Permit issued against the wrong convention is worthless at a rental desk in Rome. A missing third-party certificate turns a border post into a lost day. Our staff handle these documents daily, and they check them properly before you walk out.
That is why we hold our accreditation with the Automobile Association so closely. It lets us issue AA products directly, across the counter, instead of sending an application away and asking you to wait.

One visit, not three
The permit, the membership and the border paperwork all live behind the same counter. You should not need three errands to leave the country.
Accreditation we take seriously
Being an accredited AA sales agent is not a logo on a window. Our staff are trained on AA systems and process permits every single day.
Advice before the sale
If you don't need a second permit, we won't sell you one. If your destination needs a different convention, we'll tell you before you pay.

Our AA accreditation

The Automobile Association of South Africa is the only body that issues International Driving Permits in this country. We are accredited to sell AA products directly — which is why you can walk into a shopping centre and walk out with a permit instead of posting an application away.
That accreditation covers driving permits, all three AA membership plans, and the cross-border documentation needed for road travel into the rest of Africa.
